During the current COVID-19 outbreak the practice are suspending all on-line bookings for appointments via Vision and our web site we are still open for repeat prescription collection. 

 Message for patients

Please wear a mask when attending the Practice or Pharmacy.

If you are asked to attend for an appointment please attend alone unless there is a reason for you to bring someone with you.

Please do not come into the Practice unless you fit the criteria below.

1.   To collect a prescription

2.   If you have an appointment with either;

-        The Practice Nurse

-        An appointment given by the GP after being triaged

-        Marie Stopes

-        AA Screening

-        Ultrasound

-        Physiotherapy

Our Reception Staff will only take enquiries for any of the above.

If you need to put in a prescription request or have a query with your medication then please either phone or email; mccg.prescribingclerk@nhs.net



We will not be offering any pre-bookable appointments or follow up appointments with GPs for at least 2 months


If you need a follow up appointment a GP will contact you by phone.


NOTE By law medical evidence is not required for the first 7 days of sickness. After 7 days it is for your employer to determine what evidence they require if any, from you. This does not need to be a fit note (Med3 form) from a GP.

If you are advised to self isolate by NHS 111 or PHE if you have been in contact with a carrier it is at your employers discretion as to what medical evidence they need for your period of absence.

Our doctors, nurses and staff are looking forward to helping you. 

We have been in this modern purpose built surgery since April 1997.  .

We also have an extended hours pharmacy on site open from 7am to 10:30pm (Sunday 7am to 5pm) with skilled pharmacists who can give advise on a range of conditions and treatments.

We offer a range of specialist clinics including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Coronary Heart Disease, Smoking Cessation, Hypertension, Family Planning including coil fitting and Implants, travel clinics.  

We also have convenient ultrasound, physiotherapy, osteopathy, dermatology and elderly care clinics provided on site by other providers.

We are an advanced training and teaching practice and are a hub for local medical education. At any one time there are between 2 and 5 experienced doctors who are training to become General Practitioners working with us. They train with us for periods ranging from four months to two years. We also supervise nurses and junior doctors in training who are with us for up to 4 months.
